The objective of this review is to bring information about innovations and technologies that, through genetic improvement, are being used improve the sustainability productivity agricultural crops, human nutrition, as well conservation decontamination soils. Bioremediation consists using microorganisms that have ability modify or decompose certain pollutants, with possibility increasing their activity engineering, building new strains for transformation pollutants into inert substances. Genetic improvement seeking develop cultivars more tolerant periods water deficit. Plant biofortification varieties improved plants a higher content vitamins minerals, which obtained improvement. Thus, biotechnology once again essential world production can series other benefits society.
